The Abilities & MCP module (on by default) lets AI agents and tools work with your SEO data through WordPress’s Abilities API (WordPress 6.9 and later). To connect an AI assistant that supports MCP to your site, install the MCP Adapter plugin and follow its instructions.
What agents can do
- Get SEO data: the SEO title, description, focus keywords, robots settings and canonical URL of a post.
- Update SEO data for a post.
- Analyze post SEO: run the basic SEO checks.
- List redirects and create redirects (when Redirects is on).
- Submit URLs to IndexNow (when IndexNow is on).
Every action runs as the signed-in user and respects that user’s permissions. Turn the module off if you don’t use AI agents.
