Quick answers to the questions store owners ask most.
Do I need to create products in Paddle?
No. Prices come from EDD. Classic subscription plans are created automatically.
Can I use EDD discount codes?
Yes, including discounts on renewals. Paddle charges the discounted EDD total.
Can customers pay with PayPal or Apple Pay?
Yes, with whatever payment methods your Paddle account has turned on.
Can I switch from Classic to Billing later?
Yes. Enter your Billing credentials and change the account type. Existing orders keep using the account type they were placed with, so their refunds still work.
Does it work with EDD Pro?
Yes, with both EDD Lite and EDD Pro.
Which checkout pages are supported?
Both EDD checkouts: the [download_checkout] shortcode and the EDD Checkout block, and both the block and shortcode receipt and confirmation pages. If you use a custom checkout template, test it in sandbox before going live.
What happens to my settings if I delete the plugin?
They are kept, unless you ticked Remove data on uninstall.
Do payments stop if my license expires?
No. Payments, subscriptions, renewals and refunds don’t depend on the license. You only stop receiving updates and support.
Can I sell several subscriptions in one order?
No. Paddle bills each subscription on its own, so EDD asks the customer to buy them separately.
