Coding standards and releases

Updated

Standards

  • WordPress PHP coding standards. Every output is escaped, and every string is translatable in the wpinterface-paddle-for-edd-pro text domain. Deliberate exceptions are annotated with phpcs:ignore and a reason.
  • No translation calls before init (requirement messages are translated lazily).
  • PHP 7.4-compatible syntax only.

Release steps

  1. Run php -l on every file, and phpcs --standard=WordPress; review new findings.
  2. Regenerate the translation template (command below).
  3. Bump Version in the plugin header, WPINTERFACE_PADDLE_PRO_VERSION, and Stable tag / changelog in readme.txt.
  4. Sandbox smoke test: a one-time purchase, a subscription with a trial, a refund from EDD, a refund from Paddle, a cancellation, and pause and resume.
  5. Build the zip without development files (.git, local test helpers).
