“Checkouts are failing” warning in the admin
Paddle refused to start a checkout because your Paddle account itself needs a setting. The warning says which one:
- No default payment link: in Paddle go to Checkout → Checkout settings and set Default payment link to your checkout page. Paddle Billing refuses every transaction until this is set.
- Website not approved: in Paddle go to Checkout → Website approval and add your domain.
The warning disappears automatically after the next successful checkout.
Paddle’s checkout shows “Something went wrong”
- Classic: Paddle checks that the webhook URL is reachable when it opens the checkout. Make sure your site’s webhook URL is publicly reachable.
- Billing: make sure your domain is approved in Checkout → Website approval and the client-side token belongs to the same environment (sandbox
test_…, livelive_…).
Paddle does not appear at checkout
- The credentials for the current mode are missing or invalid. Check EDD Test Mode, then the matching Live or Sandbox fields. A warning at the top of the Downloads screens tells you which.
- Your store currency is not supported by Paddle. See Taxes and currencies.
