Paddle is the seller of record and calculates sales tax and VAT at checkout from the customer’s location.
Keep EDD taxes off
Turn EDD taxes off (Downloads → Settings → Taxes). Paddle calculates and collects tax itself; with EDD taxes on, customers could be taxed twice. The plugin shows a reminder while EDD taxes are on.
With Tax on prices set to add tax on top, your EDD price is the net price and Paddle adds tax. The order screen shows what Paddle charged and the tax it collected.
