The plugin talks to Paddle with an API key (server side) and a client-side token (in the browser).
- In the Paddle dashboard, open Settings → Developer tools → Authentication (sandbox:
sandbox-vendors.paddle.com/settings/authentication). - Click New API key. Give it a name such as “My WooCommerce store” and choose when it expires.
- Grant Read and Write for at least Transactions, Adjustments, Subscriptions and Notification settings. Ticking All is simplest.
- Click Save and copy the key. Paddle shows it only once.
- Open the Client-side tokens tab and create or copy a token. Sandbox tokens start with
test_and live tokens withlive_.
Missing permissions
A key without Notification settings access can’t set up the webhook for you, and one without Adjustments access can’t refund. If Test connection says “Paddle refused this API key”, create a new key with read and write access.
