Vendor ID, Auth Code and public key

Updated

Paddle Classic needs three values: your Vendor ID, an API Auth Code and your public key.

  1. In the Paddle dashboard, open Developer Tools → Authentication and copy your Vendor ID and an API Auth Code.
  2. Open Developer Tools → Public Key and copy the whole key, including the -----BEGIN PUBLIC KEY----- and -----END PUBLIC KEY----- lines.
  3. In WordPress go to WooCommerce → Settings → Payments → Paddle, set Paddle account type to Paddle Classic (legacy) and paste the values into the Sandbox (or Live) fields: Vendor ID, API Auth Code and Public Key. Save.
  4. Click Test connection.

Paste the complete public key

Payments are only marked paid when Paddle’s signature verifies against this key. Always include the BEGIN and END lines.

Next: Webhook alerts.
